If you saw the Sword's Friday set during the Austin City Limits Music Festival, you saw drummer Trivett Wingo's last performance with the Austin metal band. The band announced Monday that Wingo has left the group. Upcoming tour dates have been canceled, and the band is looking toward rescheduling. The group described the split as amicable.
"It is with deep sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Sword. After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime, I have arrived at a place where I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword," Wingo said in a statement.
And from the rest of the band (Bryan Richie, Kyle Shutt and J.D. Cronise): "We wish Trivett nothing but the best."
