Ferrari Automobile | German Grand Prix: The Abode Of Champions

The German Grand Prix is an annual automobile race in the F1 calendar. Every year at the Hockenheimring, fans eagerly wait to see the high-speed drama unfold in all its glory, known as Formula 1. During 2007-2010, the German Grand Prix was split between the Nurgburgring and the Hockenheimring. This year, from July 23 to July 25, the world will witness Button, Hamilton, Alonso, and others fight it out for a podium finish in the 67-lap Hockenheimring circuit. Past winners include Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes in 2008 and Mark Webber of Red Bull-Renault in 2009. Renowned drivers like Michael Schumacher, Juan Manuel Fangio, Ayrton Senna, Jackie Stewart, and Alberto Ascari have all uncorked the bubbly on the podium here in the past.

German Grand Prix: The Greatest Show on Earth!
The Prinz-Heinrich-Fahrt, which was held from 1908 to 1911 in the Taunus Circuit, was the precursor to the German Grand Prix. The first national event in the nation's Grand Prix motor race was held at the AVUS (Automobil Verkehrs und bungs-Strabe) race circuit in southwestern Berlin in 1926 as a sports car race.

World War II saw Germany being banned from taking part in international events until 1951. The country missed the inaugural F1 GP season in 1950. Since 1997, the Hockenheimring has become the German F1 racing's permanent home, with the European F1 races being held at the Nurburgring. Following the huge success of Micheal Schumacher, a legend in F1 racing, both the German venues have become a permanent fixture in the F1 calendar.

Rudolf Caracciola of Germany has the most wins (6 times) in Germany's GP event, and Ferrari has led the list of most wins by a constructor (19 times).
