BMW M3 GTS was unofficially called the new M3 CSL, but the model that was launched at thebeginningof the 21st century is still very competitive and M3 GTS wasn't able to improve its time on Nurburgring with more than 2 seconds.

M3 CSL has 360 HP, weighs3,053 lbs, while GTS develops 444 HP with a weight of 3,210 lbs, so better numbers were expected. Compared to a standard BMW M3 coming form the same generation, M3 GTS was 17 seconds faster, which is yet impressive.
