Ferrari Lamborghini | Paris Motor Show: Cars That Are Coming In 2010

The start of the 2010 Paris Motor Show is just 3 days away for the general public but starting tomorrow, we can expect a flood of information as the media begins their three-day exclusive viewing of the best and brightest of the show. As one of the key European auto shows and a center of world style and fashion trends, the Paris Motor Show is often a popular debut point for sexy new concepts and 2010 should be no exception.

While not all of the vehicles introduced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show will make it to US soil, the French show should give us a good look at any new models headed for US showrooms, especially from European automakers. From wild new exotics to the latest in the "green car" movement, the Paris show will feature new models from the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, Land Rover, Volvo, Peugeot, Porsche and more.

The concern over global warming and rising fuel prices has helped the boom of the green car segment and we can expect to see a handful of new high-mileage vehicles but most of the headlines from the 2010 Paris Motor Show should involve high-priced, high performance models from luxury brands.

The company who has demanded the most attention in the automotive media leading up to tomorrow's first media day is Lamborghini. For the past few weeks, they have been teasing us with super close up shots of some new mystery model, sporting a world of carbon fiber and plenty of red trim (shown above, on the right). The most recent was introduced today, offering us a look at what appears to be a shot through the driver's seat with the bright red steering wheel shown in the background. Originally, it was believed that these teasers were of the Murcilago replacement, expected to be named the Jota but recent reports have suggested that it could be a new "technology concept". We should know within the next 24 hours just what Lamborghini has in store for the future of their product lineup.

Along with the teasers, some companies have left fewer questions as to what they are bringing out for the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Land Rover will be showing off their new 2- and 4-door Evoque models and Chevrolet will be showing off their Europe-only Captiva, but don't expect the SUV/crossover spread to be as big as it is for the US market.

From the green car segment there should be an impressive spread. The new Spyker-owned Saab is planning to bring out their ePower EV prototype " an electric station wagon. Korean automakers Kia and Hyundai will show off (very) small cars, as Kia will have their new Pop electric car and Hyundai will feature the ix20. BMW will show off the new Mini Scooter E Concept, the first two wheeled model from the MINI brand. Audi and Peugeot will show off cars that combine the green movement with the supercar segment as the Audi eTron Spyder and Peugeot EX1 electric roadster each make their world debut in Paris.

There will be a fair spread of new family-movers and fuel efficient green cars but the limelight will belong to the high end performance luxury models that dominate the European motoring scene, with a special emphasis on topless performance. Aston Martin will be offering up their new V8 Vantage N420 Roadster, Ferrari will introduce the 599 SA Aperta, and Infiniti will feature the new IPL G Convertible.

By this time tomorrow, we should be getting a good look at everything that the 2010 Paris Motor Show has to offer, so stay tuned to Huliq for continuing coverage of the hottest new models from the show!
